Arsenal have announced that they will keep their £4 away ticket discount in place when the new £30 cap comes in next season.

The clubs in the Premier League all agreed to cap the price of tickets for away fans at £30 for the next three years. On top of that, Arsenal have opted to keep the small discount they were already offering in place.

What that means is that no Arsenal fan will have to pay more than £26 to watch a Premier League game at another ground – a £370 saving according to figures on Arsenal.com for fans who attend every away game.

Fans had hoped to get the prices capped at £20, with the ‘Twenty’s Plenty’ campaign gaining traction around the country. However, this move should be widely welcomed as a significant step in the right direction to help fans with the ever-rising cost of being a top-level supporter these days.

“We have fantastic support home and away”, Ivan Gazidis told Arsenal.com.

“We know that following the club is a commitment and are always seeking to strike the right balance in our pricing.

“These steps mean that we will have held general admission season ticket prices flat for nine of the 12 years since our move to Emirates Stadium by 2018, and are also designed to make things a little easier for our travelling fans who often face the highest prices when watching Arsenal play away.

“In terms of the financial support for away fans, we have consistently been strongly in favour of doing more to help and were originally in favour of a Premier League proposal around travel initiatives which would have been even more generous to travelling fans than the £30 cap.

“Once it became clear this would not receive enough support across the Premier League clubs, we supported and directed the funds to the £30 cap plus an additional £4 ticket discount for Arsenal’s away fans.”
