Sunday 26 April 2026
Suzanne Moore, Telegraph 21 April 2026Well, look who’s back.
You’ll notice some differences below, mainly there are no clips but I have listed every piece that has been in the Times, Guardian, Mail, Telegraph, National and Herald (print editions). This is just easier on my brain than how I was doing it previously, for whatever reason, but, as you’ll also see, I’ve added more papers into the mix.
I have to say, I was somewhat surprised by how few pieces there were, especially in the Telegraph – which I checked multiple times because, when I was doing this previously, it was a quiet day if the Telegraph only had two or three pieces. This week, Monday – Friday, they had just five in total, with one of those just a passing mention.
In Northern Ireland, the News Letter is by far the worst paper for anti-trans coverage and I will be adding it to a monthly check. The reason for this is 1. I don’t want to give them any money. 2 . A subscription is nearly £40-a-month. 3. They are available free in my local library. I was going to include the Belfast Telegraph but they rarely bother, so I will only include them when they actually have something.
The next edition of the Trans Agenda, out on Tuesday, will cover the weekend papers and that will be the schedule going forward – Monday – Friday in Sunday’s Trans Agenda, Saturday and Sunday in Tuesday’s.
Monday 20 April – Friday 24 April (number of articles mentioning or about trans people)
Total count: 18
Average per day: 3.6

The National 1

Trans doctor in NHS row finds work in Australia, by Roger Maynard (22 April)
-
Beth Upton, who was targeted by the GC Cult and subjected to horrendous public abuse has left her job as an NHS doctor, left her home in the UK and moved to Australia. That is still not enough. Still they hound her there while blaming her for the legal case that was brought – and lost – by Sandie Peggie.
Sperm donor not recognised as father on birth certificate, by Sian Bradley (22 April)
-
A man who donated his sperm in an ‘unlicensed’ manner has been refused his application to replace the child’s father, a trans man, on the birth certificate. Robert Albion, who also goes by the name ‘Joe Donor’ “claims to have fathered more than 180 children in 12 years and has repeatedly taken women to court to claim parental rights.”
The Guardian (4)
Dugdale on safety, gay rights and the future of Stonewall, by Helen Pidd (20 April)
-
That article with the incoming chair of Stonewall in which, when asked about JK Rowling’s stance on trans rights, Dugdale launched into a passionate defence of Rowling. Stonewall has since issued a statement attempting to contain the damage this has done, but it’s too late.
US spending on ‘reckless’ war on Iran could have saved 87m lives, says UN, by Patrick Wintour (21 April)
-
Passing, but important mention: “[Tom] Fletcher [UN’s undersecretary-general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator] revealed he was being kept awake at night deciding whether to accept US aid funding if it comes with new conditions concerning issues such as abortion or transgender rights.”
Hungary’s anti-gay law breaches basic democratic values, EU’s top court finds, by Jennifer Rankin (22 April)
-
Passing mention: “Previously likened to Russia’s notorious “gay propaganda” law, the Hungarian legislation means gay and transgender people or themes cannot feature in school educational material or in any television show, film or advert shown before 10pm.”
Trump joins Bible reading marathon after pope clash, by Uwa Ede-Osifo (23 April)
-
Passing mention: “The Family Policy Alliance Foundation, a conservative lobbying group, put on the weeklong marathon through its ministry, Christians Engaged. The foundation has pushed to defund abortion providers and restrict transgender medical care.”
Daily Mail [inc Scottish & Irish editions] (4)
Universities guilty of curbing free speech face fine of £500,000, by Martin Beckford (20 April)
-
Passing mention misleading about why Kathleen Stock left her job as a professor: “A year ago the Office for Students (OFS) fined Sussex University £585,000 – using existing legislation regarding governance – for its treatment of academic Kathleen Stock. The philosophy professor from Aberdeen was hounded out of her job after she spoke out about the conflict between transgender rights and those of women.”
Now Dugdale to lead gay and trans charity through ‘turbulent times’, by Claire Elliot (20 April)
-
Based on The Guardian’s article. Laughably says that Stonewall “has been accused of pursuing a ‘militant trans agenda’.” It also tries to say that Stonewall’s alleged support of trans people is why it suffered a funding crisis and had to make staff redundant after a years-long smear campaign by the likes of the Daily Mail.
Trans doctor at centre of changing room row is working in Australia, by Dan Barker (21 April)
-
More targeting of Beth Upton because she dared exist as trans near Sandi Peggie.
Sports bodies demand answers over funding by Luke Power (24 April)
-
This is two articles in one. The first is about sport funding which has nothing to do with trans people before the second part which is Sharron Davies fronting a campaign backed by the ADF (Alliance Defending Freedom) to target Parkrun – a fun run for people of all ages and abilities. They are threatening legal action “over their open-door transgender policies.” To reiterate – this is a community fun run held in parks all around the UK. Your granny can walk it with her stroller if she wants. You just turn up and run, jog, walk or whatever you need to do to get around the course. There is no winner. It is not a competition.
Daily Telegraph (5)
Don’t laugh at the Greens – really they’re just Stalin with a nose ring, by Tim Stanley (20 April)
-
Passing mention: “While Reform claims that Woke activists run the country, Green campaigners see themselves as losers on everything from global carbon targets to trans rights, silenced by the “mainstream media” and betrayed by two-faced elites.”
Alastair Campbell’s daughter is as much of a misogynist as her father, by Suzanne Moore (21 April)
-
Alastair Campbell’s daughter doesn’t hate trans women therefore she is a misogynist according to Suzanne Moore. The entire premise of this article is that Campbell and her co-host allegedly mocked the women involved with For Women Scotland and that makes her a misogynist and fair game for Moore. It’s patronising, absurd and, of course, full of bullshit.
Way of the World Michael Deacon (21 April)
-
Trying to be a smartarse (as usual) over the story that there are not enough public toilets in the UK for everyone by taking the piss out of trans people and Bridget Phillipson.
Ice hockey chiefs refuse to enforce trans ban ruling by Ben Rumsby (22 April)
-
The Telegraph is furious that England Ice Hockey has refused to do anything after a trans player took part in a women’s match despite a discriminatory ban being in place. The player, who was actually eligible to play at the time, scored three goals in a draw. Despite no formal protest from the opposing club, the Telegraph is calling for points to be deducted. The article is a quite wonderful hissyfit from Rumsby. SEEN in Sport has taken up the case of one unhappy father. Su Wong is quoted.
Sharron Davies threatens Parkrun with legal fight as it refuses to ban trans women by Ben Rumsby (24 April)
-
When I did my search in The Telegraph it only brought up two results (those above) for the word transgender, so I had to use ‘biological’ to find this one. It’s the same nonsense as the article mentioned above.
The National (1)
Scottish Greens co-leader says Polanski’s visit north of the border will be a ‘real boost to the campaign’ by Laura Pollock (21 April)
-
Passing mention: “In February, The National exclusively told how the Scottish Greens and the Green Party of England and Wales had rekindled ties after a previous split over transgender rights.”
The Herald (2)
Sperm donor ‘who fathered 180 children’ loses bid to be declared parent by Martha Vaughan (22 April)
-
Same story as above
So now we have a mountain of manifestos – here’s what really matters by Calum Steele (22 April)
-
I’ll just let Steele’s own words do the talking here – “It wouldn’t be the Greens of course without some trans pitch and a claim that waiting lists for gender-affirming care run to 200 years is as hilarious as it is preposterous – but for all that, the cherry on the cake is the full page dedicated to a drawing of a uterus indicating that they at least have some concept of what a woman is. How that will land with the woo-woo element of their base, we will just have to wonder.”
